Forgotten Skye Audiobook | Dual Narration

Currently Narrating: Forgotten Skye by Roz MacLaren

I'm pleased to share that I'm currently narrating Forgotten Skye, the first book in The Ruined Skye Trilogy by Scottish author Roz MacLaren.

I'll be working alongside fellow Scottish audiobook narrator Kathlyn-Nicole Milne in a dual narration, with both of us bringing our own perspectives to this Scottish YA romantasy.

I'll also be taking care of the audiobook editing and mastering.

About Forgotten Skye

Set on a dystopian version of the Isle of Skye, Forgotten Skye takes us into a world forever changed by a radiation leak.

The island is now divided between the Radiens, who developed extraordinary powers, and the Blands, ordinary humans struggling to survive under their rule.

At the centre of the story are Vesper, a seventeen-year-old determined to fight back, and Hunter, a prince caught between loyalty to his mother and what he knows is right.

It's a story of rebellion, difficult choices and slow-burn romance, with a Scottish setting that makes it especially interesting to bring to audio.

Dual Narration with Kathlyn-Nicole Milne

I'm delighted to be sharing the narration with fellow Scot Kathlyn-Nicole Milne.

I'll be narrating Hunter's perspective, while Kathlyn takes on Vesper's. As a dual narration, we'll each narrate our own assigned POV sections, including the character dialogue within them.

There's something particularly enjoyable about having two Scottish voices tell a story set on the Isle of Skye, especially one that takes such a different approach to a familiar part of Scotland.

Kathlyn is an experienced audiobook narrator with a background in performing arts and a growing collection of fantasy and romance titles. You can find out more about her work and listen to her samples on Kathlyn-Nicole Milne's website.

Recording, Editing and Mastering

Alongside my narration, I'll be responsible for editing and mastering the completed audiobook.

It's a side of production I genuinely enjoy. Bringing the recordings together, working through the edits and getting the audio ready for release is just as rewarding to me as the time spent behind the microphone.

The aim is a consistent, enjoyable listening experience while allowing both narrators' performances to shine.
