Who is responsible for your information

Jimmy MacGregor, Audiobook Narrator, is responsible for personal information handled through jimmynarrates.co.uk. For privacy questions or requests, use the enquiry form.

Information collected

If you make an enquiry, the site records the details you provide directly, which may include your name, email address, organisation, project type and title, genre, approximate word count, desired date, budget or production model, audition preference and message. It also stores one-way hashes derived from the network address and browser information for security and rate limiting; these are not used for marketing.

No public manuscript or file-upload facility is provided at launch.

Why the information is used

Information is used to assess and answer enquiries and discuss work you request. The lawful basis is taking steps at your request before a possible contract where applicable. Legitimate interests applies to administering genuine business correspondence, preventing abuse, securing the website and retaining limited records for reasonable follow-up or legal claims. A documented assessment found this limited use necessary and proportionate.

Where retention is required by law or for legal claims, the applicable legal obligation or legitimate interests may also apply. Enquiry data is not used for marketing, automated decision-making or profiling.

Who processes it

IONOS provides hosting and database infrastructure. Google provides the Gmail service where email is used. Information is not sold and is shared only where needed to respond, provide an agreed service, comply with law or protect legal rights. If a provider processes information outside the UK, it must use an applicable UK transfer safeguard; you may ask for more information using the contact details above.

How long information is kept

Routine enquiries are kept for no longer than 12 months unless an active relationship, contract, legal obligation or legal claim requires longer. Unsuccessful or non-actionable enquiries are deleted when no longer needed, normally within six months. Temporary CSV exports are deleted after their administrative purpose is complete.

Cookies and local storage

Essential security, session and trusted-device cookies operate only when required for protected features and do not require optional-cookie consent. The public cookie preference control records its choice in the browser’s local storage. No analytics, advertising or other non-essential tracking is enabled at initial launch. Future non-essential services must remain disabled unless the visitor has chosen to allow them.

Your choices and rights

Depending on the circumstances, you may ask for access, correction, deletion, restriction or portability of your information. You may object to processing based on legitimate interests. Submit a request through the enquiry form; identity may need to be verified before fulfilling it. You may also complain to the UK Information Commissioner’s Office through ico.org.uk (opens in a new tab).

Changes to this notice

This notice will be reviewed when the website’s enquiry, hosting, mail, retention or optional tracking arrangements change. The review date above will be updated after material changes.
