Romantasy asks the performance to hold two priorities at once. Cultures, politics and magic must remain coherent, while attraction, conflict, intimacy and vulnerability must feel emotionally credible. A darker or deeper male character still needs variation; authority and tension become more convincing when they can sit beside humour, restraint or uncertainty.
